Once there were stairs in this place. They lead to the exit from the Underground, that was ultimately sealed with the Barrier after the War. After a while everybody figured there's no point to them, so the stairs were taken down to let the light in. For years this old chamber was frequently visited by monsters who wished to see the real sunshine.

The time has passed...

Less and less monsters came here. It was too painful to look at this fraction of the beauty they once had taken for granted. For them, the sunshine was now a symbol of lost hope, cruel fate and eternal imprisonment. When Home became too crowded, many monsters moved farther from the old entrance. Some of them felt relief - being so far from this place meant they didn't need to be reminded of things they've lost.

So the place became forgotten.

I had so much work and so much fun with the first panel. As you guys have seen already, I'm a sucker for one point perspective. I'll be using it A LOT.
